John has been with Spectrum for two years, starting as a Graduate Geophysicist and steadily developing into his role. He has established himself as a reliable offshore surveyor and processor, and regularly contributes to R&D projects when shore-based. We caught up with John to hear about his experience at Spectrum so far…

“The best part of working offshore is the places it has taken me around the country – Scotland has been a particular highlight. I also enjoy the variety of personalities we get to meet and work with.”
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁?
“The first priority is always a solid breakfast. A highlight of my most recent shift was 4 a.m. transit bacon and egg rolls. Survey operations vary from job to job, but towed operations in shallow-water environments always keep me focused. The evening brings downtime with the crew, usually consisting of a hearty meal, a movie and plenty of laughs.”
