It’s been a busy start to the summer for our AeroMAG® UAMS and UAS teams, supporting major offshore wind developments across Ireland and Scotland.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve successfully completed two projects in challenging coastal environments, delivering high-quality magnetometer and terrestrial survey data while maintaining our commitment to safety, operational efficiency, and technical excellence.
For the airborne magnetometer surveys, AeroMAG’s dedicated RTK GNSS and onboard data logging system ensured all measurements were timestamped with sub-millisecond accuracy, enabling precise positioning of magnetic field variations throughout the survey area. Maintaining a consistent sensor altitude over both land and water was critical to data quality, and the SkyHub 3 True Terrain Following system performed exceptionally in achieving this requirement.
The rapid turnaround of daily survey data was made possible through our proprietary processing platform, GeoVenture, streamlining signal processing, data integration, quality control, and line preparation for efficient project delivery.
Both projects were completed ahead of schedule and without incident—a testament to the professionalism, planning, and dedication of our team, both in the field and behind the scenes.
As offshore renewable energy continues to expand, we’re proud to contribute to the development of critical infrastructure that will help power a more sustainable future.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making these projects a success. We’re now looking ahead to upcoming opportunities while continuing our R&D efforts to further enhance the performance and capabilities of the AeroMAG system.
