Spectrum Offshore Group consists of the subsidiaries Spectrum Geosurvey, Spectrum Geophysics, Spectrum Vessel Services and Spectrum UAV.

What We Do

Our aim at Spectrum Offshore is to provide the highest quality service that our clients can rely on every time. Spectrum Offshore can offer a wide-ranging scope of services that are designed to complement the efficient progression of nearshore and offshore projects. We are continually developing our capabilities to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the evolving offshore sector whilst ensuring that health, safety, environment and welfare are at the forefront of the services we provide.

Our deep expertise ensures data is collected, processed and delivered to the highest of standards. The Spectrum team pride themselves on working closely with clients to provide high-quality data acquisition and implement rigorous quality control steps at every stage to ensure we are continually exceeding our clients' requirements.

Spectrum Offshore are also able to offer highly trained, experienced personnel to compliment comprehensive workboat services where we can advise, source, manage and operate coastal work boats for a variety of applications.

The Survey Team

Jess Hanham - Hydrographic Surveyor & UAV Pilot

Jess has over 10 years' experience in survey and offshore operations, working extensively within the offshore construction industry. His experience comes from project managing surveys worldwide for major renewables and oil & gas clients. He holds a MSc in Hydrography from Plymouth University and also holds a Heavy Lift PfCO from the CAA for UAV operations.

Jack Downton - Hydrographic Surveyor & UAV Pilot

Jack has over 10 years' experience as a hydrographic surveyor and is highly competent in vessel mobilisation, data acquisition, processing, reporting and delivery of high resolution hydrographic survey data. Since 2012 he has been deeply involved in providing timely, accurate results to support the successful construction of numerous major offshore wind farms in the UK.

Adam Cross - Hydrographic Surveyor & UAV Pilot

Adam has over 11 years' experience as a hydrographic surveyor/engineer for several key clients in the offshore aggregate, oil and gas and renewable energy sectors. His skill set consists of vessel/equipment mobilisation and calibration, project management, field marine survey, technical reporting and consultancy. Adam holds a CAA accredited PfCO for UAV operations, and is working alongside the rest of the team to develop methodology for aerial inspection and survey to complement and expand our client base.

John has over 30 years’ experience in the installation, operation and maintenance of subsea acoustic and GPS equipment in the marine survey industry. He has worked for organisations such as The Danish Hydrographic Institute, The Danish Metrological Institute and Reson and has expertise in GPS and underwater acoustic positioning technologies.

Rob has over 10 years' experience as a hydrographic surveyor with experience gained throughout the world. Rob has specialised in vessel mobilisations, acquisition, processing and reporting in a wide range of marine sectors. Rob also holds a Heavy Lift PfCO from the CAA for UAV operations.

Rob Arnold - Marine Geophysicist

Graduating from Cardiff University with a BSc in Geology, Rob has over 10 years' experience as a marine geophysicist including the acquisition, processing and interpretation of high resolution geophysical and hydrographic data for a wide range of marine surveys. He has worked on many nearshore and offshore projects for major renewables, subsea cable and oil & gas clients in both the UK and further afield.

Amanda Smith - Vessel Services Manager

Amanda has over 15 years' experience in accounts management and 5 years' experience in the renewable energy industry working as a business development coordinator. This role involved coordinating project bids and marketing and regular meetings with clients. Amanda has also been actively involved with managing vessel certification for 14 vessels for a large offshore services company and holds a NEBOSH General certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.

Nelson Wood - Vessel Manager & Spectrum Fleet Master

Nelson has over 15 years’ experience in the offshore renewables sector having worked on a variety of vessel platforms and wind farms around the UK and North Sea. Prior to joining Spectrum, Nelson was an operations manager for a large UK based crew transfer company. Today, Nelson runs the vessel operations for Spectrum and is an active member within the RNLI.
