Consent and licensing surveys

Spectrum provides marine baseline and monitoring surveys to support clients in meeting consent, license and environmental compliance requirements throughout the lifecycle of offshore developments.

Our surveys deliver accurate, repeatable datasets that enable the monitoring of seabed conditions, infrastructure integrity, and environmental change over time.

Our services support activities during pre-construction, construction, operation, and decommissioning, ensuring regulatory obligations are met while providing actionable information for asset management and risk reduction.

General Visual Inspection (GVI) surveys

General Visual Inspection surveys provide high-resolution documentation of subsea infrastructure and seabed conditions. Using acoustic sensors, and visual inspection platforms where required, Spectrum captures detailed data to assess asset condition, seabed features, and potential hazards.

GVI surveys are commonly used for:

  • Inspection of subsea cables, pipelines, and offshore structures
  • Identification of seabed changes, debris, or exposure of assets
  • Post-installation verification and condition assessment
  • Routine monitoring required for regulatory compliance
Asset monitoring surveys

Spectrum delivers long-term asset monitoring programmes designed to track the condition and stability of offshore infrastructure over time. By acquiring repeatable survey datasets, we enable clients to identify trends, detect potential issues early, and maintain compliance with license conditions.

Asset monitoring surveys can include:

  • Cable and pipeline route inspections
  • Scour monitoring around foundations and subsea structures
  • Seabed mobility and sediment transport assessment
  • Long-term environmental monitoring programmes

Through integrated survey methodologies and consistent data acquisition standards, Spectrum provides reliable monitoring data to support informed decision-making and responsible offshore asset management.
